Submitting Insurance Claims

Before You Start

Ensure you have:

• Valid NPI number
• Patient's current insurance information
• Completed progress note with CPT and ICD-10 codes

Creating a Claim

1. Navigate to Billing > Claims
2. Click "Create New Claim"
3. Select the patient
4. Choose the service date
5. Add services (CPT codes) from the session
6. Add diagnoses (ICD-10 codes)
7. Review claim details
8. Submit electronically or print for mailing

Common CPT Codes

• 90791: Psychiatric diagnostic evaluation
• 90832: Psychotherapy, 30 minutes
• 90834: Psychotherapy, 45 minutes
• 90837: Psychotherapy, 60 minutes
• 90847: Family psychotherapy

Tracking Claims

Monitor claim status:

• Pending: Submitted, awaiting response
• Paid: Claim paid by insurance
• Denied: Claim rejected, needs correction
• In Review: Under insurance review
